요약
본 실험은 황산을 촉매로 사용하여 초산과 에탄올을 반응시켜 에스터화 반응을 통해 아세트알데히드 유도체의 주 생산 유도체 중 하나인 초산에틸을 합성하였다. 500 ml 증류플라스크에 에탄올 25 ml와 진한 황산 25 ml,를, 분액깔때기에 빙초산 50 ml와 에탄올 50 ml를 가했다. 그 후 140 ℃에서 기름중탕을 하였고 온도가 140 ℃가 되면 분액깔때기의 밸브를 조금 열어 빙초산과 에탄올 혼합용액을 한 방울씩 떨어뜨렸다. 증류되어 나온 액체에 Na2CO3를 CO2가스가 발생하지 않을 때까지 가하였다. 그 후 분액깔때기에 용액을 넣고 초산에틸 층과 물 층을 분리하고 CaCl2 10 g과 증류수 10 ml로 만든 용액을 가하고 혼합해주었다. 분액깔때기로 물 층과 초산에틸 층을 분리하고 CaCl2 5 g을 넣고 녹을 때까지 교반시킨 뒤 거름종이로 용액을 여과시키고 여과된 용액을 증류시켜 초산에틸을 얻었다. 합성된 초산에틸을 염화칼슘 10 g이 녹은 용액으로 물 층과 기름 층을 분리하고 염화칼슘 5 g을 기름 층에 녹여 탈수하고 증류한 결과 투명한 액체 21.2 g이 응축되었다. 얻어진 수율은 27.57%이며, 자극적인 향이 났으며 증류 시 초류점의 온도는 42℃, 최고온도는 68℃이었다. 합성된 액체는 초산에틸 이외의 다른 물질도 합성된 것으로 판단하였다.
Abstract
In this study, using sulfuric acid as a catalyst by the reaction of acetic acid and ethanol, acetaldehyde derivative through esterification reaction is one of the primary production of ethyl acetate derivatives were synthesized.
