-to synthesize nitrobenzene using nitric acid and sulfuric acid as reactants

3. Theoretical Background
1) Property of Nitrobenzene
Nitrobenzene (C6H5NO2) is an organic aromatic nitro compound. Nitrobenzene is highly toxic and can be ingested, inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Therefore, care must be taken in handling the experimental. Also, nitrobenzene does not dissolve well in water, which can be confirmed during the experiment. Nitrobenzene has a molecular weight of 123 g/mol. It has a melting point of 5.8℃, a boiling point of 211℃, and a specific gravity of 1.2, and exists as a colorless liquid at room temperature. Benzene also acts as a base that can give electrons in a reaction. So it reacts easily to the pro-electrolyte and acid.
