The process of lactic acid fermentation takes place in cytoplasm, which can be largely divided into two stages before lactic acid is produced. In the first stage, glucose in one molecule is then crystallized into two molecules of pyruvic acid, in which ATP in two molecules and NADH in two molecules are produced. The next step produces a two molecules lactic acid from a two molecules pyrobic acid, which is mediated by lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) with the help of the co-enzyme NADH.
