This study aims to analyze textbook vocabulary activities and determine which facets of vocabulary knowledge are emphasized in these activities. It is indisputable that textbooks significantly impact classroom learning. However, research on the vocabulary activities of English textbooks in the 2015 revised curriculum used in Korea is limited. Thus, the study analyzed a textbook in the 2015 revised curriculum used in Korea and assessed the activities. One English textbook currently used in some Korean middle schools has been investigated. Table 1 shows the list of textbooks used.
Only one question is available for vocabulary activities in the textbook at the end of each unit. Therefore, the researcher analyzed all vocabulary-related activities, not just the vocabulary exercises in each unit.
