meso-1,2-dibromo-1,2-diphenylethane is synthesized through bromination of (E) -Stilbene and separated through crystallization, vacuum filtration, and oven. For meso-1,2-dibromo-1,2-diphenylethane, the E2 reaction in which potassium hydroxide acts as a base is performed twice to synthesize diphenylacetylene.
