In the synthesis of the meso-1,2-dibromo-1,2-diphenylethane, The amount of the product is 37.0013g(product)- 36.1277g(filter paper and watch glass)=0.8736g. The number of moles of (E)-stilbene used in the reaction is 0.5g/180.250g/mol=2.774×10^3mol, and (E)-stilbene and meso-1,2-dibromo-1,2-diphenylethane react at a molar ratio of 1:1, so the number of moles of the theoretical yield of the product is also 2.774×10^-3mol.
