Large cities always have a phenomenon of population concentration. Especially, Seoul, the capital of Korea, is a city where all cultural factors such as job opportunities and infrastructure are concentrated. For this reason, Seoul is always full of people. However, the area of Seoul is limited, so not everyone can live in Seoul. Therefore, the housing problem is serious. Housing prices in Seoul are rising day by day. So, people who cannot afford the rising housing prices decide their residences in the metropolitan area close to Seoul. They commute to Seoul every day.
In modern society, where the value of time is important, commuting time has an important influence on people’s workplace choice. Long commute time can exhaust and stress people both physically and mentally. Especially, Seoul has a very serious problem with traffic congestion during rush hour. This can reduce people’s life satisfaction.
