Early Spring – Soil Preparation
As winter’s chill begins to fade, the first task for a North Dakota wheat farmer is to prepare the soil for planting. The ground is still cold and hard, but it’s time to start planning for the upcoming season. The farmer inspects the fields, checking for any signs of erosion or leftover debris from the previous harvest. Once the soil is deemed ready, it’s time to begin tilling.
