Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) was a German composer and pianist, widely regarded as one of the greatest composers in Western music history. Born in Bonn, Beethoven displayed musical talent from a young age, receiving early training from his father and other local musicians. In his early 20s, he moved to Vienna, where he studied with Joseph Haydn and quickly gained a reputation as a virtuoso pianist and composer.
